A list of the best wine bars in Paris by a local (Part 1)

A list of the best wine bars in Paris by a local (Part 1)

I tried to gather the wine bars I enjoyed the most as a local in Paris and put them on a list so you can go and try them on your own! Wine bars are great because they suit everyone! You’re looking for a place to have a date; go to a wine bar! Looking for a place to spend some time with your family, wine bar! Get drunk with friends and share good food, wine bar! You’ll just have to choose the style of wine bar that suits you the most. So here are my 5 first recommendations in Paris!

1. Tempête

💰 Price: High (€€€)

Address: 5 Cr des Petites Écuries, 75010 Paris

Tempête is a wine bar located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. The design of the place is beautiful, very cozy, and intimate, but you can can still feel the welcoming aspect of a true wine bar. An extensive menu of natural and conventional wines of great quality. The food is also a great aspect of this place; all the delicious and different tapas on the menu will please everyone around the table!

The prices would be around 15-20 euros for the food and between 34 and 51 for a bottle of wine. So it is in the upper range of prices you’ll find in Paris.

2. Goûte

Address: 8 Rue Mandar, 75002 Paris

💰 Price: Moderate to High (€€-€€€)

Goûte is located in the second arrondissement of Paris. Opened by two chefs from Sptime and Brutos (two great restaurants in Paris). This wine bar near Montorgueil Street stands out by it’s simplicity and the cozy feeling you’ll have during your evening there. Also stands out with the selection of natural wines.

The price of the bottles is around 30 to 40 euros, and for the shared dishes, around 10 to 15 euros.

3. Le Baron Rouge

💰 Price: Affordable (€-€€)

Address: 3 Rue Basfroi, 75011 Paris

A legendary wine bar known for its relaxed, old-school charm outside of the common tourist path, one of my personal favorite wine bars, Le Baron Rouge, is a favorite among locals for its selection of affordable and high-quality wines. On weekends, you can even enjoy fresh oysters and charcuterie paired with your wine right at the bar. A true experience of a traditional French wine bar, my personal favorite. Even if all these bars are great, this one stands out of the fancy vibe and tends to remind us of the warmth and happiness of a French old wine bar.

Prices are really reasonable at “Le Baron Rouge": between 5 and 10 euros for a starter and around 15 euros for a main course. The wine bottles will be between 15 and 30 euros.

4. Les Oeillets

💰 Price: Moderate to High (€€-€€€)

Address: 137 Rue Saint-Maur, 75011 Paris

Les Œillets is a natural wine bar located in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. This spot stands out for its friendly atmosphere and stylish decor, featuring green banquettes and a large mirror. This place offers a beautiful selection of natural wines, paired with dishes prepared by guest chefs in residence, ensuring a constantly different and unique culinary experience.

The small plates, perfect for sharing, are priced between €7 and €12. And the wine between 25 and 40€.

5. La Cave à Michel

💰 Price: Moderate (€€)

Address: 36 Rue Sainte-Marthe, 75010 Paris

La Cave à Michel is a wine bar located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. Founded by the Tischenko brothers, also behind the renowned restaurant Le Galopin, this cozy spot offers a rich selection of natural wines, paired with creative small plates. With its red brick walls and zinc counter, the charming decor makes it an ideal spot for a friendly evening over good food and wine.

Plates range between €5 and €12, and bottles start at €30. Also offering wines for takeout.
